“Oh, go away, I know what I am doing!” she said in frustration as she warded off her husband’s arm reaching out to grab the salt shaker.
“Here, put this in,” he said handing her the spices finely ground from his favourite stash.
“No. I don’t like spices, you know this,” she said, exasperated, and ready to kill. She stirred the pot, tasted the mix, stirred some more. The phone rang in the distance.
“Yes, will get hr for you,” hubby said walking into the kitchen, and handing her the telephone.
“Hi Jude. Yes I have it, just a sec,” she said leaving the pot for a few minutes, after turning the dial down to a simmer. “Will just go check.”
Hubby seeing opportunity, fetched the can of spices and rapidly added a spoonful of spice in his haste, and gave a quick stir. He was horrified when his stirring to blend in those flavours, turned the mix a funny shade of yellow. Looking at the box still wondering what was going on, he discovered he had picked up the curry powder and not the allspice container. He dropped the spoon, placed the box back in his stash, and disappeared out the back to his shed.
In no time at all he heard that dreaded piercing scream that would terrify a mountain lion. Moral of this story... Too Many Cooks Spoil The Broth!
